HUNTERS BAR INFANT SCHOOL
Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe. As a school, and an LEA, we have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any Online Safety incidents are recorded and managed.
Mrs King, our Computing and Online Safety co-ordinator, has completed the CEOP Ambassador training delivered by the CEOP Education Team. She is now able to deliver Online Safety training to other professionals and has access to a range of reliable, appropriate and up to date training materials.
Online Safety is taught to all pupils, from Reception to Year 2, explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We use a variety of materials which are age appropriate. In particular we use the Jessie and Friends videos from https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/4_7/
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the Online Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online. The Think U Know website has useful advice for parents and carers.
If you have any concerns or questions about Online Safety please do not hesitate to come and talk to member of our Safeguarding team or to Mrs King, Computing Co-ordinator.
OUR KEY MESSAGE FOR PUPILS IS
If anything happens online which makes you feel worried, scared or sad, the best thing to do is talk to an adult who they trust.
