Numbots

Numbots is an online learning platform which helps with number recognition, understanding of number and fluency of addition and subtraction. It is presented in a game like platform and can be played on tablets or a desktop computer, via the Numbots website or app.  All children will receive a log in code for their own Numbots account which they can access at home or in school.

There are two play modes in NumBots which serve different purposes. In Story Mode the emphasis is on learning the ideas and concepts behind addition and subtraction so it features more diagrams, shapes and question styles.  Story Mode contains 18 Stages (Rust to Diamond) and children will receive a certificate on completion of each stage. To unlock the next level, children need to earn two stars by showing sufficient proficiency. In Challenge Mode the emphasis is on speed of recall of key facts, such number bonds to 10, doubling or mental addition and subtraction. Challenge Mode is unlocked on completion of the Iron stage in Story Mode. There are 20 Challenges in total. To unlock the next Challenge, children must correctly answer 12 questions in a minute.
